Blue Heron Over Green Waters - Morning
These art works were created at the intersection of nature and craft, with intentionally limited hues. For me, this process results in a creative tension in the final printed image that resonates quietly like a whisper in a cathedral, yet indelibly like a life memory. I strive for an image that becomes part of our experience. Each scene is five-sensed, then hand crafted with artisanal care and attention. My hope is to penetrate your cares, your awareness for just a moment and give you a connection to your secret self.
My goal is fine art. Pure expression. When my occasional achievement of beauty combines with your personal aesthetic, perhaps you will notice a spark of perception, or recall a forgotten stirring of pleasure, or sense an emotional lift that lightens the load you are carrying.
What you see in my images is that I encountered other people, creatures and places and didn't look away. I planted my feet, put my fears aside, and occasionally connected.
Brant Sea Geese Depart the Sound at Dawn
Rafting Mute Swans - North Cove
As the rising sun burns off a dense September fog, dozens of great white Mute Swans rouse from a night's rest in a remote arm of North Cove. The retreating fog reveals an impressionist's dream scene, from the dappled green foliage of the far woods to the line of rafting swans defining the midpoint, and evolving layers of riffling water forming and vanishing with the force of the incoming tide.
